Job Title: MIG Welder

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to perform high-quality welding and basic fabrication in a manufacturing environment. Experience in structural or large equipment fabrication is highly valued. Candidates with at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or similar environment are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on various components, ensuring strong, clean, and accurate welds.
• Utilize overhead cranes, hoists, and sit-down forklifts to move and transport heavy materials ranging from 2 to 20 feet in length.
• Carry out work by reading and interpreting blueprints to meet precise dimensions and tolerances.
• Install and assemble parts using fixtures and jigs for minor fabrication work.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and maintain a safe, organized work area through 6S duties.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality results.
• Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Knowledgeable in the safe operation of overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to move and manage materials weighing up to 10,000 lbs using proper equipment.
• Capability to work in a manufacturing machine-shed environment around heavy equipment and active production lines.
• Possession of a professional attitude, strong attention to detail, and reliability in adhering to work schedules.

Work Environment

This position offers a consistent four-day workweek , typically running Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Fridays off . You will work in a facility of approximately 40 employees, either independently or in small groups. Safety is a top priority, and all necessary personal protective equipment—including welding helmets, gloves, and hard hats—is provided.

This is a Contract position based out of Sheffield, IA.

The pay range for this position is $21.63 - $21.63/hr.
