Cradle-to-Grave Freight Broker - Atlanta, GA 

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Cradle-to-Grave Freight Broker to join the team. This person will be responsible for managing the entire freight process from start to finish prospecting and securing new shippers, booking freight, negotiating rates, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring successful delivery. Were looking for someone to help grow this market, develop new customers, and manage freight cradle-to-grave.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a book of business through proactive prospecting, cold calling, and relationship development with shippers.
  • Negotiate rates with both customers and carriers to ensure profitability and service excellence.
  • Manage shipments cradle to grave from quoting, booking, and dispatch to tracking and delivery confirmation.
  • Develop and manage carrier relationships , ensuring reliable capacity and competitive pricing.
  • Monitor freight movement , troubleshoot issues, and communicate updates proactively to customers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, operations, and leadership to ensure smooth execution.
  • Maintain accurate, timely data in the TMS (Transportation Management System).
  • Meet and exceed weekly and monthly performance metrics (load count, margin goals, new customers, etc.).
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and carrier network opportunities

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or transportation operations (required).
  • Proven ability to develop new business and manage the full sales cycle.
  • Strong understanding of truckload markets, carrier pricing, and freight operations.
  • Experience using TMS software (McLeod, Mercury Gate, Ascend, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated, competitive, and driven to achieve results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 (depending on experience)
  • Commission: Aggressive, uncapped structure; top performers can earn $150,000 - $200,000+ annually
