Job Description

At The Judge Lewis and Mrs. Mildred Goldberg Preschool at Congregation Kehillath Israel, we believe in creating a joyful, inclusive, and community-centered environment where children, families, and educators of all backgrounds feel welcomed and supported. Rooted in Jewish values and play-based learning, our school offers a unique and culturally rich experience, with Hebrew language and Israeli culture naturally woven into daily classroom life. With a strong sense of community, collaborative teaching teams, and a commitment to meaningful learning, we provide an environment where both children and educators can thrive.

We are seeking a passionate and flexible Teacher to join our school community. In this role, you will work within a collaborative teaching team to support either toddler or preschool classrooms, helping to create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences. This is an ideal opportunity for an educator who values creativity, teamwork, and being part of a dynamic and culturally rich early childhood environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning.
  • Collaborate with teaching team members to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and well-organized classroom environment.
  • Participate in weekly team planning time and monthly staff meetings.
  • Communicate regularly with families through Brightwheel, including daily updates, blogs, and photos.
  • Contribute to student progress reports, portfolios, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Participate in school events, including parent meetings and community gatherings.
Qualifications:
  • EEC Teacher or Lead Teacher certification required.
  • Education in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working in early childhood settings preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning.
  • Collaborative, flexible, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a positive teaching culture.
Why Join Kehillath Israel Preschool?
  • Above-market compensation (to be confirmed by director).
  • Paid time off.
  • Employer-paid or partially paid health, dental, and/or vision insurance.
  • Retirement fund contributions.
  • Community membership benefits.
  • Childcare benefits.
  • Built-in weekly planning time and collaborative team structure.
  • A culturally rich environment with Hebrew language and Israeli influence.
  • Supportive leadership focused on growth, feedback, and team development.
If you’re looking for a collaborative, engaging, and culturally rich school community where you can grow as an educator and make a meaningful impact, we would love to connect with you.

Apply today to join Kehillath Israel Preschool and help create joyful, meaningful learning experiences for every child.
