Summary

We are searching for an engineering with 5+ years’ experience as a Licensed Structural Engineer. The position will be responsible for the assessment of commercial, institutional, and industrial structures throughout the region. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing structural and building failure analysis, evaluations on damaged structures, and/or conducting facilities/building condition assessments.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Individual Responsibilities

    • Assess and evaluate the condition and potential cause of distress to a wide range of structural buildings and facilities
    • Perform field investigations of site conditions and subsequent analyses of structural components
    • Produce written reports detailing findings of investigations, including conceptual repair recommendations

Team Responsibilities

    • Work with an inter-disciplinary team of engineers and construction consultants as part of investigations
    • Receive mentoring from senior engineering staff and provide mentorship to junior staff members

Marketing/Business Development Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain client relationships through projects and team-related activities within the region

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Illinois
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural analysis, evaluation, and design of structures (buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, etc.)
  • BS degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering or Architecture
  • MS degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering or Architecture is a plus

 

Skills:

  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite, structural analysis software, and CADD software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work well within a team

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to perform investigations in the field (including climbing ladders, carrying inspection tools, stooping, kneeling, etc.)
