Job Overview:

Join the Madeline Fiadini LoRe Infusion Center, a leading facility offering a wide range of services including chemotherapy, non-chemotherapy treatments, blood transfusions, bio/immunotherapy, injections, and therapeutic phlebotomy. Our Oncology Specialty Clinics provide expert care in Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Thoracic Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, and Urological Oncology. The center features 10 infusion chairs, 5 oncology exam rooms, and specializes in treating diverse cases in Oncology, Hematology, GI/Rheumatology. This offers a unique opportunity to work in a rapidly growing and developing oncology program, with multiple specialties housed in one area. As part of the largest health system in NJ, connected to leading cancer centers in the area for Interprofessional quality collaboration.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3+ years of Outpatient Oncology experience
  • BSN RN

Preferred:

  • ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card
  • ONC Certified

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Minimum (3) three years of recent/current acute care hospital experience/Oncology
  • Active NJ RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association
  • Graduate from an accredited NLN School of Nursing
  • BSN Degree

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Per Diem; Day Shift
  • 8am-4pm
  • No Weekends; No Holidays; No On Call

Essential Functions:

  • Performs thorough assessment on assigned patients, identifies actual and potential problems specific to cancer population.
  • Directly assists in specialized procedures within scope of practice, under the direction of and alongside the physician.
  • Maintains specialized skill set for multiple surgical subspecialty oncology areas, including knowledge of procedures, instruments, and relevant supporting tests and terminology.
  • Oversee maintenance of necessary supplies stocked in conjunction with support staff, and report to manager for maintaining appropriate levels/ordering.
  • Plans for the provision of traditional and individualized comfort measures.
  • Keeps abreast of all the new therapies and technology in the treatment of oncology patients, ex. Syringe, pumps, infusion pumps and hepatic pump
  • Prepare and review patient’s charts for completeness, obtaining current laboratory reports, and/or test results for review by providers.
  • Deliver advanced professional patient-centered care to adults diagnosed with a wide array of acute and chronic illnesses; including those receiving curative treatment, support for chronic disease, palliative treatment and end-of-life symptom management
  • Administer medications as ordered, documenting as per protocol, including evidence of sites, adverse reactions and side effects.
  • Responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
  • This individual will serve as the link between the patient, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and other support staff as appropriate.
