SUMMARY: Perioperative nurse helps plan, implement, and evaluate treatment of the patient. The Perioperative Registered Nurse provides surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing the care of patients before, during, and after surgery. Communicates with physicians, nurses and other staff about patient’s clinical condition including results of surgical procedure(s), diagnostic studies, and symptomatology. Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient’s condition. Additionally, is cross-trained to perform general nursing duties in other departments. Additional duties may be required as needed.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Six months nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Texas RN license or RN Compact licensure
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • ALCS and PALS Certification required or must be obtained within first year of employment.
