Mig Welder

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join a growing manufacturing team responsible for building high-quality telescopic seating systems used in schools, theaters, and professional venues. This role focuses on precision fabrication and MIG welding in a production-driven environment where quality and consistency are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on metal components to meet production and quality standards
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
• Measure, mark, cut, and fit materials using tape measures and tools
• Use hand and power tools to grind, prepare, and finish welds
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, strength, and quality
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• Proficiency in MIG welding
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong measuring skills using a tape measure
• Experience using hand and power tools for metal fabrication
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a team environment

Preferred Experience

• Experience in metal fabrication or production manufacturing
• Background working with structural or large-scale fabricated products
• Strong reliability and work ethic

Work Environment

• Medium-sized manufacturing facility focused on metal fabrication
• Non-climate-controlled environment (warmer in summer months)

This is a Contract position based out of Altamont, IL.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
