Medical Billing Specialist

Company & Position Overview

An established mental healthcare organization is seeking a Billing Specialist to focus on denials, unpaid claims, and revenue recovery .

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for reviewing billing reports, identifying denied or problematic claims, and taking ownership of getting those claims resolved and paid .

The ideal candidate understands billing workflows and can work through issues, identify root causes, and fix them . This role has a direct impact on revenue and overall billing performance.

The Ideal Candidate

• Prior healthcare billing experience
• Strong experience handling denials and unpaid claims
• Familiarity with billing systems ( InSync a plus )

Key Responsibilities

• Run and review reports of submitted claims
• Identify denied, rejected, or unpaid claims
• Investigate issues and drive claims through to payment
• Correct errors (coding, documentation, credentials, etc.)
• Resubmit claims and track them through resolution
• Coordinate with external billing providers as needed
• Maintain organized tracking of claims and outcomes
• Help improve internal processes around denials and collections

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• 1–2+ years of healthcare billing experience
• Experience working with claim denials and resolution
• Understanding of billing codes and claim lifecycle
