Low Voltage Cable Installer (Data Center) – Denver Area

Location: Denver, Colorado

Job Type: Contract (16 Weeks)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8–10-hour days (40–50 hrs/week)

Pay Rate: $23–$26/hour

Overview

We are seeking skilled Low Voltage Cable Installers to support structured cabling projects in a data center environment . This role involves installing, dressing, labeling, testing, and terminating copper and fiber optic cabling, as well as assisting with network equipment buildouts.

This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-demand industry while working alongside experienced technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and route CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling
  • Perform cable dressing, labeling, and material management
  • Execute rack and stack and server cabinet buildouts
  • Rough-in and finalize fiber pathways and structured cabling systems
  • Terminate and test copper and fiber cables
  • Support patching, splicing, and troubleshooting
  • Use testing equipment (e.g., Fluke testers ) to ensure quality
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites
  • Read and interpret floor plans, drawings, and specifications

Required Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in low voltage or structured cabling OR relevant trade/technical school training
  • Experience with:
    • Cable installation and pulling
    • Termination and patching
    • Cable labeling and organization
  • Familiarity with CAT5, CAT6, and/or fiber optic cabling
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
  • Strong work ethic, communication skills, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in data center or commercial environments
  • Rack & stack or cabinet buildout experience
  • Fiber splicing (fusion, ribbonized)
  • Experience with Fluke/OTDR testing tools
  • Knowledge of IDF/MDF buildouts and pathway installation
  • Understanding of cable color codes and QA best practices

Requirements

  • OSHA 10 Certification (required before start)
  • Must provide own basic hand tools
  • Required PPE:
    • Composite toe boots
    • Hard hat
    • Safety glasses
    • High-visibility vest
  • Ability to pass a drug screening

Work Environment

  • Indoor and exterior work within a data center setting
  • Physically active role requiring standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching
  • May work in tight or confined spaces
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
