Role Summary (Plain English)

Hilton is seeking a Cloud Networking Engineer to support China specific cloud environments and broader global infrastructure initiatives. This role is not a data engineering position.

The primary focus is on how data moves , not how data is modeled or processed:

• Network design
• Connectivity
• Routing
• Secure data pathways across cloud environments

This engineer will work closely with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliant, reliable, and resilient connectivity across AWS China, Alibaba Cloud, and global Hilton environments .

• Architecture + implementation focused
• Hands on with routing, VPCs, connectivity, and network design
• Critical to China regulatory compliance initiatives

Core Responsibilities

Cloud Networking & Connectivity (Primary)

• Design and implement cloud network architectures across:
  • AWS (including AWS China)
  • Alibaba Cloud
• Configure and manage:
  • VPCs / VPC peerings
  • Routing tables
  • Network gateways
  • Secure ingress/egress patterns
• Enable secure data transfer paths between cloud environments
• Support cloud connectivity aligned with China data residency and compliance requirements
• Troubleshoot complex networking and connectivity issues across distributed global environments

Cross Team Collaboration

• Partner with:
  • Cloud platform teams
  • Security teams
  • External vendors
• Provide networking expertise that enables:
  • Security controls
  • Cloud platform design decisions
  • Scalable architecture choices
• Document architectures, designs, decisions, and network patterns clearly for global teams

Required Skills (Non Negotiable)

Cloud Networking Experience

• Strong cloud networking fundamentals
• Hands on experience with:
  • VPC design
  • Network routing
  • Connectivity patterns
  • Hybrid and multi cloud networking concepts

Cloud Platforms

• AWS networking experience in production environments
• Alibaba Cloud networking experience preferred
• AWS China experience highly preferred , but not required

Nice to Have Skills

(Do NOT screen out if missing)

• AWS China region experience
• Alibaba Cloud hands on experience
• Exposure to APAC or China based environments
• Mandarin language skills (helpful, not required)

• 100% Remote
• Time zone flexibility is not a concern
• Team is already globally distributed

Interview Process

• Single technical interview
• 30 45 minutes
• 2 technical interviewers
• Pass technical = hire

China / Global Experience Strong Differentiators

(Recruiters should actively look for these but not disqualify if missing)

Highly Preferred

• AWS China experience ( Req 5857 1)
• Alibaba Cloud experience ( Req 5858 1)
• Experience supporting China based or APAC cloud/networking environments
• Understanding of regional cloud constraints and architectures

Language

• Mandarin Chinese BIG PLUS
• Not required
• Very valuable for global collaboration

Hard Knockouts (Must Be YES)

If any answer is NO, do not proceed.

• 5+ years supporting production cloud or infrastructure environments
• Hands on cloud networking experience (non negotiable)
  • VPCs
  • Routing
  • Connectivity / network paths
• AWS experience in production (2+ years)
• Still hands on technically (not advisory only)
• Demonstrates adaptability / willingness to work beyond a narrow role

Do NOT require: Informatica, Spark, EMR, CI/CD, or data engineering experience

Preferred Differentiators (Do NOT Knock Out)

• AWS China experience
• Alibaba Cloud networking experience
• APAC / China based environment experience
• Mandarin language skills
• Prior work in regulated or region restricted cloud environments
