  • This is an onsite position in Cedar Falls, IA

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Serve as a value-add partner and subject matter expert on HR administrative processing including leave administration, workers’ compensation, recruitment, employee relations and HR systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support leave management processes including FMLA, ADA, Parental Leave and Disability.
  • Support the administration of the Worker’s Compensation and Occupational Health programs.
  • Lead the HR support for union job bidding process, including analyzing workforce data.
  • Lead the hourly production recruiting process including sourcing, interviewing, candidate selection and new hire orientation.
  • Support the annual engagement survey, data analysis and action plans as needed.
  • Create timely and accurate routine reports for internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate annual employee events and/or lead special projects.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training sessions.
  • Build strong relationships with HR peers, employees and Leaders across the organization.
  • Provide advice and input on general employee issues.
  • Provide timely customer service in response to employee questions and requests
  • Understand and apply union CBA language to all processes
  • Understand and support Union employee benefit programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality with human resources records, including employee and organizational data.
  • Manage third party vendor relationships for employee programs.
  • Function as a subject matter expert for HR systems.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Facilitate feedback to key stakeholders; working closely with appropriate parties to ensure timely production of appropriate documentation and sign off.
  • Support execution, planning, and facilitation of employee relations and engagement initiatives.
  • Work with a high level of confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive employee or organizational information.
  • Serve as a backup to other HR team members as needed.
  • Identify process improvements and implement upon approval.
  • Maintain HR intranet site and digital HR boards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Minimum two years’ Human Resources generalist experience preferred.
  • Experience in a union setting preferred.
  • Experience with UKG Dimensions and Workday preferred.
  • Professional certification a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
