Job Description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking experienced Freight Broker Agents to join our growing brokerage. This is a 1099 independent contractor, commission-only role designed for brokers who already have an established book of business and are ready to scale using modern technology and AI-enabled workflows.

As a Freight Broker Agent, you will be responsible for bringing your existing shipper relationships , managing freight from quote to delivery, and growing revenue using industry-leading platforms including AscendTMS, DAT, Truckstop, HubSpot, and the Microsoft ecosystem .

You will operate independently while receiving systems, automation, and operational support to maximize efficiency and earnings. There is no cap on commissions , and your success is directly tied to the business you bring and grow.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, all candidates must meet the following requirements :

• Established book of business required (non-negotiable)
  • Active shipper accounts with current or recent freight volume
    
• Proven experience as a Freight Broker or Freight Broker Agent
  
• Strong working knowledge of:
  • DAT & Truckstop
    
  • TMS platforms (AscendTMS preferred)
    
  • HubSpot or similar CRM
    
• Ability to manage the full shipment lifecycle independently
  
• Experience sourcing capacity, negotiating rates, and executing freight
  

Technology, Equipment & Workspace Requirements

• Must provide and maintain your own business phone line (mobile or VoIP) for shipper and carrier communications
  
• Reliable high-speed internet connection required
  
• Personal computer or laptop required (capable of running modern web-based TMS, CRM, and Microsoft applications)
  
• Dedicated home office or professional workspace required suitable for confidential customer and carrier communications
  

AI & Systems Requirements (Mandatory)

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Planner, SharePoint, and OneNote
  
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Copilot and AI-assisted workflows
  
• Working experience using or willingness to actively use:
  • ChatGPT
    
  • Claude AI
    
• Familiarity with Apollo and/or Clay for prospecting and data enrichment preferred
  
• Willingness to adopt AI-driven processes for sales, operations, and communication

• Ability to maintain accurate and timely CRM and TMS records
  
• Operate ethically and in compliance with brokerage standards
  
• Responsible for own taxes, insurance, equipment, and business expenses as a 1099 independent contractor
