Job Title: SAP BASIS Specialist

Location: Sacramento, CA (Remote)

Duration: 960 Hours

Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced SAP BASIS Specialist to provide advanced technical support and architectural expertise for enterprise SAP environments. The role involves administration, maintenance, and optimization of a complex SAP landscape, ensuring system stability, scalability, and high availability. The supported environment includes SAP ECC, CRM, BW, BusinessObjects (BOBJ), Process Orchestration (PO), Web Dispatcher, Fiori, C/4 HANA, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP CPI), SuccessFactors, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide operational support for the SAP ecosystem, including 24/7 on-call and after-hours support as required.
• Lead SAP BASIS administration for critical enterprise applications and provide secondary support where needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, acting as a primary point of contact for incident management.
• Coordinate and execute SAP installations, upgrades, patches, backups, and system restorations.
• Perform OS, database, and application patching and migrations.
• Test patches in non-production environments prior to deployment.
• Configure systems and applications in alignment with enterprise standards.
• Ensure system availability and performance in accordance with SLAs.
• Conduct system sizing, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Act as liaison with vendors for issue resolution, patches, and updates.
• Provide regular status updates, issue tracking, and reporting to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business units and technical teams for system support and troubleshooting.
• Install new releases and manage version upgrades.
• Monitor and resolve hardware/software issues impacting SAP environments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, backup strategies, and user management procedures.
• Provide end-user support and coordinate training as needed.
• Evaluate software/hardware solutions and provide technical recommendations.
• Automate administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including security, network, and development.
• Manage batch jobs, scripts, and resolve related issues.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
• Maintain fault tolerance and disaster recovery strategies for SAP systems.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in SAP BASIS administration within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in SAP system administration, including installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP architecture, system design, and functionality.
• Hands-on experience with: Operating Systems: AIX, UNIX, Linux, Windows Databases: DB2, MS SQL SAP Technologies: ECC6, S/4 HANA, BW/BI, CRM, BOBJ, PO, BPC, HANA, C/4 HANA, SAP BTP, SuccessFactors, Cloud Connector, Fiori/Gateway, Web Dispatcher Experience with SAP Solution Manager and SAP Cloud ALM.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting SAP ABAP and Java systems.
• Expertise in SAP Solution Manager for monitoring and project documentation.
• Experience with SAP system refresh processes (e.g., LAMA, SAP PCA).
• Administration experience with NetWeaver Java solutions (Adobe Document Services, PO, Web Dispatcher, SLD).
• Experience with SAP transport and change management tools (CTS+, non-ABAP, and cloud solutions).
• Experience working in DB2/AIX and RHEL environments.

• Response and resolution time for critical incidents
• Timely completion of maintenance, upgrades, and patching
• Accuracy and completeness of technical documentation
• Resolution of batch job errors within defined timelines
• Successful execution of disaster recovery testing and drills
