Salary: Base minimum $172,000 | 7+ years experience: $200,000+ potential

High-Level Overview for Candidates
This is a high-visibility executive leadership role at a prestigious, high-end surgical facility in Redbank NJ. The Director of Perioperative Services has full accountability for clinical operations, team leadership, and strategic direction across all perioperative departments. The facility is a regional leader in surgical innovation — the first facility to implement robotic surgery, currently operating 3 surgical robots and offering advanced minimally invasive brain surgery. With 12 operating rooms spanning plastics, neuro, GYN, and spine surgery, this is an exceptional opportunity for a clinical leader ready to drive innovation and shape the future of perioperative care.



Key Responsibilities



Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for perioperative services
  • Drive innovation, service line growth, and continuous improvement
  • Leverage data and technology to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency
Operational Management

  • Oversee all aspects of daily surgical services operations
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory bodies (DOH, JCAHO, AORN, APSAN)
  • Optimize staffing models, workflows, and resource allocation across all perioperative areas
Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing clinical and administrative teams
  • Build strong relationships with surgeons, physicians, anesthesiologists, and executive leadership
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and positive work environment
Quality & Patient Safety

  • Champion patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
  • Drive measurable improvements in patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes
  • Participate in hospital governance and safety programs
Financial & Budget Management

  • Hold full ownership of perioperative departmental budgets, including labor and non-labor expenses
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality of care
Change Management

  • Lead organizational change initiatives across the perioperative enterprise
  • Communicate strategic priorities clearly across all levels of the organization
  • Promote a culture of adaptability, resilience, and continuous innovation
Requirements



Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — Required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration (MBA), or related field — Required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Certifications

  • CNOR Certification — Required (must obtain within 6 months if not currently held)
  • Active RN licensure — Required
Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of Operating Room (OR) clinical experience
  • Proven leadership, clinical, and administrative experience in perioperative services management
  • Full budget ownership experience, including staffing and financial oversight
  • Strong strategic mindset with both clinical depth and operational expertise
Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Comfort with clinical technology platforms and operational reporting systems

This role is best suited for an experienced RN leader with a strong command of perioperative operations and the executive presence to drive results at a high-performing surgical center. The ideal candidate brings clinical depth, strategic vision, and financial acumen — someone who can lead teams, build physician relationships, and advance quality in a fast-paced environment. Local candidates only; relocation will not be considered.



Interview Process

  • Stage 1: Initial phone screening
  • Stage 2: Candidate presentation to the Chief Nursing Administrator (CNA)
  • Stage 3: In-person panel interview with the Hospital President and three additional senior stakeholders
