About this role:

The Nova Sky Stories team is a passionate group of creative and technical collaborators with a hands-on approach to building unforgettable experiences for live audiences around the world.

As part of Nova Sky Stories, you’ll work closely with designers, creatives, and cross-functional teams across multiple global offices—sharing creativity, technical knowledge, and a passion for storytelling.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Art Director to define, inspire, and oversee the visual execution of our projects. This role serves as the central creative authority, translating client objectives and brand standards into compelling visual narratives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can seamlessly bridge the gap between creative strategy, design execution, technical requirements, and client satisfaction.

As an Art Director, you’ll be responsible for: 

• Define and oversee the visual direction for assigned projects and campaigns
• Inspire, mentor, and guide the design team, ensuring all work is on-brand, meets the highest quality standards, and effectively achieves storytelling goals
• Act as the primary creative lead and central point of communication between clients, the internal design team, and production teams
• Drive the implementation of the overall creative strategy, ensuring consistency and innovation across all touchpoints
• Manage client relationships and expectations, presenting concepts and creative rationale clearly and persuasively
• Ensure creative output aligns with technical, production, and budget requirements
• Oversee projects from concept through final delivery, ensuring high-quality execution and on-time delivery
• Help shape and maintain Nova’s digital brand presence across website and social channels
• Own and manage website content, ensuring messaging and visuals remain current, compelling, and aligned with brand positioning
• Build and maintain content calendars that support consistent storytelling across key channels

You’ll need to have: 

• 5+ years of professional experience in storytelling, concept creation, or visual design
• 3+ years of proven experience leading, managing, and mentoring creative teams
• 2+ years of experience related to drone-based creative work (e.g. drone light shows, aerial visuals, drone cinematography, immersive experiences, or similar specialized fields)
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute cohesive visual strategies
• Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Expert-level knowledge of design software and production pipelines relevant to the industry

It’s a plus if you have:

• Experience helping shape and maintain a company’s digital brand presence across website and social channels
• Ability to own and manage website content, ensuring it remains current, visually compelling, and aligned with brand positioning
• Experience building and maintaining content calendars to support consistent storytelling and brand engagement across key channels
• Experience creating, publishing, and optimizing content across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and other digital channels
• Comfortable balancing high-level creative direction with hands-on creative execution
• Experience working within fast-paced startup, entertainment, experiential, or live production environments

Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000 USD
